iPad 2 In Person

Went to the Apple Store in Otay Ranch with Rodrigo for the 5:00 pm launch of the iPad 2. We were the only ones in line waiting to just play with it, not to buy it. Took us about an hour and a half to finally get into the store.

Zoo Day With Heather

Spent most of the day at the San Diego Zoo with Heather.  Bahati, a very pregnant 19-year old giraffe, is about to get give birth any day now. She’s almost a week overdue. We were hoping it would be today.

Foggy Morning Canyon

Woke up to a thick fog filling the canyon behind our house this morning.

Tsunami Advisory for San Diego

Woke up to a tsunami advisory after last night’s devastating 8.9 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Didn’t think much of it and it turned out to be almost unnoticeable.

Chick At Three Weeks

Took some shots of the Hummingbird chick, now at three weeks old.

Three Feet Of Cookies

My mom bought a box of cookies today. All 36 inches of them.

And On The Same Day…

A new daily record for the number of spam hits on my blog. Coincidence? This time there wasn’t even an attempt to mask them. All 9 are completely unintelligible. UPDATE: Since posting this I was hit with 40 more for a total of 49 spams today. Changed the comments settings to try and stop it.

Website Design

Spent the day working on updating my brother’s website and patient forms.

Another Personal Flickr Record

I think this is the most views ever in a single day for my Flickr photos, thanks mainly to Comic Con.

Eating Black’s Angus

Had a nice lunch with my mom at Black Angus after her doctor appointment… …which gave me my 40th posting on Foodspotting:

Mami Sees The Eye Doctor

Took my mom to an eye doctor appointment this morning. Met Wally the five-year old golden retriever who is used to help waiting room patients relax.

The Social Network

Finally saw “The Social Network” on Netflix at the Tapias’ house. Well done movie, even if they took some creative license with the story. Entertaining to watch.

Helldiver Rising

Finally ordered my photo book from MyPublisher about the Curtiss Helldiver salvage and recovery operation at Otay Lakes Reservoir back in August of last year.

The Average Person

Fascinating National Geographic video about what the average person looks like. For now.
