Ozzie Makes Dinner

My brother, Ozzie, made and invited us to dinner tonight. He made his own version of Hungarian Gulyás (meat stew) with dumplings which turned out tasting pretty good.

Visiting With Old Friends

Had a great time catching up with old friends: swimming, eating, playing games, eating again, playing more games, telling ghost stories and finally roasting marshmallows over a fire pit. Wonderful way to spend a Saturday. ( p i c s )

Comic Con: The Early Years

Visited the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park to see the Comic Con: The Early Years exhibit. It was a surprisingly minimal presentation with only three small display cases in the middle of a large open area. For the $6.00 admission that I paid I stayed and went through the rest of the museum, which took less than an hour. Spent …

Zoo Day With Niece And Nephew

Had a good day as tour guide for my nephew, Stephen, his girlfriend, Jeri, and my niece, Kimi, at the San Diego Zoo. While quite a few animals were asleep or hiding, we still got to see most of the Zoo and had a pretty good lunch there as well. ( p i c s …

I Am Now Spotifying

Created a Spotify account to listen to full tracks of music before deciding whether I should buy them, or if I even need to since the service streams the tracks. It also imports all my iTunes playlists. This fantastic service has been available in Europe for a while now and only recently finally came over …

The Beauty Of The Brown Widow

Macro shot of the Brown Widow spider’s undercarriage. More beautifully colored than its more infamous cousin. Found this one nested on a plant in our backyard.

Sandwiched For Lunch Between Two Beauties

Had a great barbecue lunch at Phil’s BBQ in San Diego with my two great friends, Sylvia and Lannie. Tried the Baby Beef Rib with two onion rings, french fries and cole slaw. The meal was really good but the dish could have used a second rib.

OK-Go Does It Again For Weirdness

OK-Go combined their imaginative talents with the dance company Pilobolus to create another totally bizarre but entertaining interactive music video. (Only works in the Google Chrome browser.) This is my personal message.

Comic Con Photos Going Up

Slowly I am starting to post my Comic Con photos from this past weekend to my Flickr photostream. I have A LOT of work ahead of me. Good thing I enjoy it.

New Personal Flickr Best

A couple of days ago I reached a new personal high with views of my Flickr photostream. More importantly, they were accommodating enough to give me a beautifully even number. Monk would be happy.

Din-Din At Oz’s

On the way home from Comic Con we stopped at my brother’s house for dinner. Had fun talking with everyone but didn’t stay too late since I was exhausted.

Comic Con 2011: Day Four

For the last day of Comic Con there were noticeably fewer celebrities and costumes. Started off great with going to the Conan Art Museum with Randy. We got free t-shirts, poster and pin, plus we got our photo taken and superimposed in a Flaming C scene that we could post online and also had printed …

Comic Con 2011: Day Three

Today’s celebrity sightings included Joss Whedon, Adam West, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Jorge Garcia and Leonard Maltin. Terrific lunch was at SyFy’s Café Diem with Randy. (Had my annual Jo Lupo’s Top Secret Tuna Melt.) Friends from today included Randy, Ramon, Lisa and David. Took loads of costume shots all around the convention center. Another …

Comic Con 2011: Day Two

Today’s second eventful full day at Comic Con was spent adventuring with Sylvia, spotting or taking pictures of and/or talking with the cast from Big Bang Theory, Lee Meriwether again, Nicholas Brendon (Xander from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Zachary Levi from Chuck, Stan Lee,  Jeffrey Weissman (George Mcfly from Back to the Future Parts 2 …

Comic Con 2011: Day One

Started out the day meandering through the streets of downtown San Diego looking for off-site Comic Con venues. Then met up with Lisa at the SyFy Channel’s Café Diem on Fifth Street for breakfast. We got lucky and we were able to sit outside and people watch as we ate. Spent the entire rest of …
