Farmer’s Market, Pajarito, Albuquerque Airport and Michael Cai’s Birthday

Started the day at the Farmer’s Market in Los Alamos, then drove up Pajarito Mountain to get an overview of Los Alamos, then drove Kimi to the Albuquerque Airport for her flight and finally drove back for Michael Cai’s birthday.

Meet-up with Stephanie and Visiting the Science Museum

Met Stephanie at Starbucks with Alex and Kimi and then took Kimi to the Bradbury Science Museum.

Picked up Kimi at the Airport in Albuquerque

Drove from Los Alamos down to Albuquerque to pick up my niece Kimi from the airport. Picked up un-cooked pizzas from Papa Murphy’s for dinner.

Left Holbrook, AZ at 8:00, crossed in to New Mexico and arrived in Los Alamos at 2:00, in time for my brother’s 50th birthday party.

Another Adventure to New Mexico

After picking up a rental car yesterday (a Kia Optima…nice car), my mom and I left this morning headed for New Mexico. We overnighted in Holbrook, Arizona with stops along the way for gas and stretching.  We ate dinner at Mr. Mestas in Holbrook.

Kimi’s Graduation Dinner Celebration

After my niece Kimi had her high school graduation this afternoon, we all met at Islands at La Jolla Village Square for a celebratory dinner. I had the highly recommended fish tacos, which were very good.

Yet Another Earthquake

We had another strong earthquake tonight. This time it was a preliminary magnitude 5.9, but later downgraded to 5.7. Still packed quite a punch.

Had lunch with the Tapias at Bull’s Smokin’ BBQ on Morena Blvd. in San Diego. Excellent barbecue. Very friendly service.

Antiques Roadshow

Went to a taping of the Antiques Roadshow today at the San Diego Convention Center with my mom. She had four things to appraise.

Roses and Larvae

Worked on photos I took of my mom’s roses and of some tiny, freshly-hatched Monarch Butterfly larvae that I had to transport from a plumeria plant to a milkweed.

Lunch with Friends at Fuddruckers

First went to the Zoo for a quick trip and then got together with some friends for lunch at Fuddruckers in Chula Vista.

Monarch Larva Transforming Into Chrysalis

This morning I spent two hours patiently taking pictures of a hanging yellow and black Monarch larva transform into a shiny green chrysalis.
