SOPA/PIPA Protest Blackout Day

Thousands of Internet sites either went black or found other ways of showing their solidarity for anti SOPA and anti PIPA protests today, including me with my Flickr and Tumblr pages. Looks like we’ve won this round. But the fight is far from over.

Terrific Visit To SeaWorld San Diego

Had a great trip to SeaWorld today. Started out as just a walking visit with us seeing a Bearded Dragon named Pancake, a Water Monitor named Clyde, a Two-toed Sloth, a Capybara, a buttload of Penguins, dozens of Sea Turtles, some Moon Jellyfish and a seven-armed Sea Star. Our visit then turned into a deli …

The Zoo With Six Females

After spending an hour walking around the San Diego Zoo by myself listening to my iPod and taking pictures of, amongst other things, a great encounter with one of the Malayan Tiger cubs, I met up with my friends Mary and her daughter, a maximumly pregnant Bethany and her daughter, and Brooke and her daughter. …

Monk Would Be Elated

A beautifully perfect milestone for my San Diego Comic-Con collection views on Flickr. I can finally sleep peacefully for one night.

A Man Named Candy

It’s no wonder Disney used this guy for voice talent. Different times back then but I still appreciate his abilities. From Walt Disney’s “Peter Pan”: 13 What Made The Red Man Red _ Tinknapped

Sadie’s Shot

Went across the street tonight to feed our neighbor’s dog, Sadie, and give her an insulin injection for her diabetes. She never flinches and is always in such a good mood. Barks a lot, but it’s only because she gets excited.

Visiting A Broken Jane

My mom and I went down the street to spend some time with our friend, Jane, who broke her ankle walking her dog, Bella, on Christmas Day. She’s still going to be in a cast for quite a while, and hating every minute of it. An actor friend of hers, Neil, was also visiting for …

Evening Walk In Coronado

Met my friends Sylvia, Rodrigo, Lilo and Stitch at Tidelands Park in Coronado this evening. We walked up to the Coronado Ferry Landing where we went out on the pier to check out the shimmering downtown skyline as it got dark, and then went back to the Ferry Landing where we sat down for a …

The Joy Of Books

Came across this video today that must have been an enormous labor of love. I love that comfortable, so-many-possiblities feel of small bookstores. Wonderful music piece that accompanies this video.

Richard Alf Memorial

Drove up to Ramona to attend the memorial for my friend, Richard Alf, who passed away last week. I arrived about an hour early so I could take pictures of Bonham Bros. and Stewart Mortuary and then have some time to walk around downtown Ramona before heading back for the service.  Was planning on visiting …

Cats Screaming

Saw this today on one of the podcasts I subscribe to and it just had me giggling the whole time. Great distraction from daily serious stuff.

In Search Of Hot Pirate Babes

After my Zoo visit I drove over to Captain’s Cove at Seaport Village to pick the final calendar I need for this year. Instead of asking for the “Hot Pirate Babes” calendar, I just pointed to their display and told them I would like one. There were other people in the store. Afterwards I walked around …

Short Zoo Trip

First my first San Diego Zoo visit of the new year I spent about two hours there, mainly at the Reptile House, but I also wandered through parts of the Children’s Zoo.  Took quite a few snake and lizard shots, but balanced that with some cutesy meerkat photos. Got to see two Caiman Lizards being …

The Early Years Of Comic Con

I was emailed a link to a brief television interview with two of the founding members of the San Diego Comic Con, one of whom was a friend of mine who passed away a few days ago and the other whom I only recently met for the first time. It was great listening to their …

Another Trip To Sea The World

Took my mom for our second walking visit of the year to SeaWorld San Diego. It was another perfect, sunny day with two employees telling us we picked a perfect day to come since it was so empty. Spent a little more time checking out the animals at “Animal Connections” such as two llamas named …
