In Remembrance

Spent quite some time today looking through old and astonishingly brutal photographs from the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack while listening to World War II music. My own way of remembering those who were tragically lost that day.

One Thing Leads To Another

Two mind-expanding videos. The first one led to the second one.

Unique Be This Name Of Mine

HowManyOfMe.com There areor fewer people with the name Peter Csanadi in the U.S.A. How many have your name?

Seeing Beyond Our Hearing

Took my mom for her follow-up ultrasound today. (Now doesn’t the title make sense?) Nice surprise to find a decorated Christmas tree and bake sale in the lobby. We bought a donut and two cookies to celebrate her conquering the procedure.

Video Tour By Brenda

Had a long-overdue video chat with Brenda that ended up lasting just over two hours. With her laptop camera she took me on a tour of all the Christmas decorations she put up inside her house in Austin. Brenda takes decorating very seriously and each year does an amazing job with it. I also got …

Day Two Of Tapia Christmas Decorating

The second day of helping the Tapias decorate the outside of their house for Christmas crucially began with a delicious scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast, after which Sylvia got busy with drawing, cutting out, painting and decorating some larger candy-canes and gingerbread men to place at the front of the house. Rodrigo meanwhile was himself …

In The Christmas Spirit

The interesting portion of my day, which was spent helping Sylvia decorate the outside of their house for Christmas, began with her and I going to Michael’s to pick up a few minor crafty necessities, then quickly chowing down a bean burrito (actually, not an innuendo), climbing ladders and walking on her roof to install …

Our Zoo In The 60s

I was recently given this flyer for the “World-Famed” San Diego Zoo that I’m guessing is from the early 1960s since there is no Coronado Bay Bridge, which began construction in 1967 and opened in 1969, on the location map on the back and that US 101 became I-5 in 1964. The photo of the …

Last Time For This 22

For the final time this year (sniff) I flipped over my 22 calendars. That’s the sad news. The happy news is that it’s now the Christmas as well as my birthday month! So yay for Jesus, Santa, St. Nick, the Grinch, Frosty, Rudolph, Mr. Hankey, Jack, Jack and me. Disneyland, here I come! (Plus, I can now …

Can’t Leave It At 59

I had 59 blog posts this month and there was no way I could leave it like that. It would have bothered me like a hair in a sandwich. (Lobby, lobby, lobby…) So here is blog post number 60 to bring balance back to the universe.

A Tiny Birthday Visitor

After our birthday dinner for my brother we found this little guy clinging to the living room curtains. He was missing the very tip of his tail. I think I shall call him Tippy. Caught him and kept him indoors for the night so he could stay safe and warm. Tomorrow he shall be a …

Ozzie’s Birthday Dinner

Had all the San Diego family members gather for my older brother’s birthday dinner that my mom had made. It was pörkölt (Hungarian stew-like dish) with mashed potatoes and a few side dishes. Also had some brownie cake but I forgot to take pictures of that. There was no singing.

I Never Get Tired Of These

We had ourselves another amazingly colored sunset this evening. Maybe it’s the time of year. Whatever the reason for the bounty lately, I never get tired of enjoying them.

Zoo Day With Mami

Spent a few hours walking around the San Diego Zoo with my mom today. Got her out of the house to get some exercise. Perfect day for it with the warm weather and no crowds. Highlight of the visit was seeing two tiny capybara, one which was only two weeks old and the other which …

Christmas Frustrations

What was supposed to be a fun-filled day of Christmas decorating with my friend, Sylvia, turned into a day spent driving to K-Mart, Costco, Sears, Walmart and Target looking for just the right style of Christmas lights that she was needing for this year’s decorations. At each location she got more frustrated by not finding …
