The Social Network

Finally saw “The Social Network” on Netflix at the Tapias’ house. Well done movie, even if they took some creative license with the story. Entertaining to watch.

Biking Along Southbay

Went on a seven mile bike ride with all four Tapias, from the J Street Marina up Silver Strand and back again.

Oscars For The 83rd Time

Watched a fairly entertaining 83rd Academy Awards presentation. I may have to go see at least one of the movies nominated.

Dead Island

An extremely violent and not-very-pleasant game trailer, but totally mesmerizing. Very well done. More Dead Island Videos

Finally Saw Inception

Watched “Inception” over at the Tapias. Very involved and convoluted movie, but I liked it quite a bit. Only the second DiCaprio movie where I actually enjoyed his performance.

Centennial Of Naval Aviation

Spent the day at Coronado with Rodrigo watching the “Parade of Flight” as part of San Diego’s celebration of one hundred years of naval aviation.

So Close

Watched the first live streaming episode of one the tech podcasts I follow regularly. For a while I wasn’t listening to anything they were saying.

Smooth Cello Criminal

Cool video of the day.

45th Annual Battering Of Large Men

Watched a rather uninteresting Superbowl matchup with the Green Bay Packers coming out victorious over the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25.

Handled Some Viennese’s Ball

For the second year in a row I captained the kitchen duty at the San Diego Vintage Dance Society‘s Viennese Nights Grand Ball in Balboa Park. Started out a bit nightmarish but steadily got better throughout the evening. Who knew that upper-crusters could be so ravenous?

Two Diametrically Entertaining Videos

Watched these two videos this morning. Couldn’t not watch either one, for very different reasons. One over-the-top bizarre, the other just way too cute.

Vision Of The New California Adventure

Nighttime painting of the new California Adventure at Disneyland with projection animations. Very cool!

Nachos, Parcheesi And A Walk

Had a nachos lunch, played Parcheesi for the first time in my life and went for a walk with Sylvia, the dogs and the kids.

TRON: LEGACY

Finally took myself to go see Disney’s TRON: Legacy in digital 3D. Visually it was stunning, just as I had expected. Especially in 3D. Other than Jeff Bridges and Michael Sheen, the acting was only passable. I don’t completely blame the actors, though. Some of the dialogue was just embarrassing. The story, while bouncing around …
