Trip: Day Five | Los Alamos: Day Three

Today was filled with lots of driving around town. Picking up, meeting, dropping off, searching, eating, gassing (not from eating) and photographing the entire process.

Today In Los Alamos History

Today I visited Tommy’s office, went shopping for groceries with my mom, picked up Tommy’s dogs from Marvel’s house, took pictures of trees in the wind and had an early birthday dinner for my mom at Marvel’s house. Full day of not much until dinner.

Breaking Fast With My Nephew

After his morning of seeing doctors and lab techs, I took Alex to have a good old-fashioned American breakfast at Viola’s Place here in Los Alamos.

Ron’s Visit

After catching up with my buddy Ron at the airport (he’s a pilot for American and arrived this afternoon), I picked him up from the Harbor Sheraton, took him to Coronado for dinner at Lil’ Piggy’s BBQ (had a groupon voucher), and then walked along the Old Ferry Landing before taking him back. Dog Walk Around Fiesta Island

Walked around Fiesta Island in Mission Bay with the entire Tapia family, including Lilo and Stitch, on an absolutely gorgeous San Diego day. Followed it up with a good Mexican lunch at a recently opened Roberto’s Taco Shop.

Rubyesque Melt (Sorry, Lisa)

For lunch today I went to Ruby’s in Mission Valley and had my usual Albacore Melt, but this time with my friend, Lannie. Walked around a bit afterwards and came across a blue puppy and some giant chess pieces. Normal, everyday stuff.

Easter Dinner

Had nine people around our table tonight for an almost impromptu Easter dinner. Was only planned since yesterday afternoon. It was nice to have family, friends and one rambunctious little puppy adding much needed energy and frolic to the house. At least temporarily. The peace and quiet that followed was nice, too.

60th Spotting

Added my 60th Foodspotting post today!

Seaport Village Lunch

Met up with Christina and her mom for lunch and a walkabout at Seaport Village after a particularly good oncology follow-up visit for Christina.

Me And Six At The Zoo

Spent most of the day back again at the San Diego Zoo, this time with six females. I didn’t stand a chance.

Food Doesn’t Usually Mean This Much

Got together with Sylvia, Rodrigo, Lannie and Mary for Sharon’s birthday lunch at the Tapias’ house. It was Sharon’s first real meal in a while, finally eating normal food after her very recent and successful fight against tongue cancer.

Lunch With Lannie

Had a really good Chinese lunch with my old friend Lannie.

Zoo Visit #17

Spent the morning at the San Diego Zoo with my wedded friends Heather and Bryan. We laughed, we cried, we ate, we walked, we photographed, we emptied respective bladders, we hung from cables, we got into trouble and we even learned.

Goodbye Breakfast

Went with my mom to a local Denny’s for breakfast with my brother and nephew before they left for their return trip back to New Mexico. Food was good, but it took a strangely long time to be brought out.

Family Night At Our House

Our entire family, including Enzo, got together at our house for dinner and to watch a brief slide show. Even got to meet Stephen’s new girlfriend.
