Party For José

Went to a family party at José’s house to celebrate his quick recovery after brain surgery. Even family from out of town showed up for this one. We had fantastic chili, corn bread and dump cake, all home-made by the Tapias. ( p a r t y   p i c s )

Walk And Dinner On Coronado

Went for an evening walk with the Tapias from Coronado’s Tidelands Park up to the Old Ferry Landing where we had dinner at Lil’ Piggy’s Bar-B-Q and then walked back to Tidelands Park. I had an incredible Texas Potato with pulled pork and other fixings for my dinner.

Starbucks Run

Went on a quick Starbucks run with Rodrigo to get my tall decaf caramel macchiato with extra caramel and to pick up this week’s iTunes song pick of the week as well as the app of the week. They had no app cards and the song, “Bittersweet Melodies” by Feist, turned out to be a …

Bulk Shopping With Sylvia

Went to Costco with Sylvia and enjoyed me some garlic and artichoke as well as avocado and something else flavored hummus on pita chips, a California sushi roll with imitation crab and some Hormel Old Smokehouse thick sliced bacon. Oh, and they already had Christmas decorations for sale.

Dinner And A Show

Had some great Chinese food (Orange Chicken and Coconut Shrimp) from China One in Chula Vista while watching Red, a movie I had been wanting to see for a long time. I hate to admit that I really enjoyed a movie where many people were killed, some quite violently.

Tacos And Donuts

After our evening walk the Tapias and I went to Los Panchos in Chula Vista for an incredibly delicious Mexican dinner, followed by some fantastic donuts conveniently located next door to Los Panchos. We had to replace the calories we had burned with the earlier walk. It’s simple biology.

In-N-Out Urge

Went through an In-N-Out drive-thru with the Tapias for dinner. Haven’t had an animal style Double Double with cheese in a long time. Great chocolate shake, too.

Brazen BBQ

Had lunch with Mary at a newly open barbecue restaurant in Hillcrest called Brazen BBQ. It was clean with quick service and really good food. I had a very tasty pulled pork sandwich but the portions were a bit too much, as usual. We noticed quite a few flies on the inside of the windows …

Coffee With Mami

Stopped by a Starbucks with my mom this evening for a short sit-down with coffee and a slice of really good lemon loaf cake. Unfortunately they didn’t have any iTunes music picks of the week, nor the app pick of the week, but they did have the same free book of the week download that …

Tacos And Cat Poop

Had a family dinner at my brother Ozzie’s house again. Only a hungover Stephen and both New Mexico Csanadis weren’t there. We had bueno el Mexican food-o with fresh vegetables and sliced peaches as side dishes. Of course we had to play with the almost four week-old kitties, one of who stunk up the joint …

Quick Dinner At Ozzie’s

Went over to my brother’s house with my mom to have dinner with Ozzie, Stephen, Kimi and the three, three and a half week-old kittens. My mom had made some hús leves (meat soup, minus the meat).

At The Zoo Again?

Spent a few hours at the San Diego Zoo with my friend, Mary, and her daughter, Diana. Before they got there I walked around by myself listening to my iPod and had fantastic luck taking pictures of the Malayan Tiger cubs as well as Adhama, the River Hippo calf. We had a really good lunch …

Dining at Oz’s

The whole local Csanadi clan got together for dinner at Ozzie’s house tonight. Sort of a much belated birthday gathering for Stephen. Food was great and we got to see the almost three week old kittens again. They are getting awfully loud when hungry or alone. Just like me except I’m not black.

Dinner And An X-Show

Finished off my full Balboa Park day with a stop at Starbucks and a giant, delicious shredded beef chimichanga from Colima’s Mexican Food while watching X-Men: First Class on DVD at the Tapias’ house. I really liked the movie the first time I saw it in the theater and actually liked it even more this …

Zoo Day With Heather

Spent a few hours at the San Diego Zoo with Heather, starting with her seeing the recently born giraffe calf for the first time. Also got to pet and feed some very old Galapagos tortoises. Since we were at the zoo, we talked biology while riding the Skyfari. Had lunch at Safari Kitchen. ( z …
