Seaport Village Lunch

Met up with Christina and her mom for lunch and a walkabout at Seaport Village after a particularly good oncology follow-up visit for Christina.

Me And Six At The Zoo

Spent most of the day back again at the San Diego Zoo, this time with six females. I didn’t stand a chance.

Zoo Visit #17

Spent the morning at the San Diego Zoo with my wedded friends Heather and Bryan. We laughed, we cried, we ate, we walked, we photographed, we emptied respective bladders, we hung from cables, we got into trouble and we even learned.

Sunset At Ocean Beach

Went to Ocean Beach with the Tapias to take some shots of the sun setting over the crashing waves. Boy, did it make me have to go pee.

Family And Friend Day At The Zoo

Spent a few hours at the San Diego Zoo with my brother Tommy, my nephew Alex, Sylvia with Deaglan and Mary with Diana.

Tour By Seal

Also took the Seal Tour of San Diego which takes you on a drive along the bay and then into the bay itself, all on an amphibious bus. It was refreshing to see San Diego from a perspective I’m not used to, although the sites aren’t exactly touristy type spots. It was interesting to see …

Old Town Trolley Tour

Finally, after thirty one years of living here, I took the Old Town Trolley Tour of San Diego. Some of the info was new, but the sights were all ones I’ve seen before. Good, if stunted, introduction to San Diego for out-of-towners.

Tour d’UCSD

Met Kimi up at UCSD with my mom, brother and nephew. Walked around campus for about an hour. Drove her back to her car which was parked over five miles away.

A Bit Of Pacific Phun

Drove over to La Jolla Shores with my brother and nephew. Took some shots from inside the surf. Stopped at Starbucks on the way home.

Lunch With Family In Old Town

After a morning spent shopping, I had lunch with my mom, brother and nephew at Casa de Reyes in Old Town. May just be the best tacos in town. The waitress was as Mexican as Betty White, which kind of took away from the authenticity.

Helping With Giraffe’s Notoriety

The San Diego Zoo tweeted about my baby giraffe photo on Flickr. (Isn’t she #adorable?! RT @PeterCsanadi: 18-hour old giraffe calf at the San Diego Zoo. http://flic.kr/p/9sTjFG)

More Baby Giraffe Shots

Spent some time this morning back at the San Diego Zoo, mainly to take more pictures of the baby giraffe that was born two days ago. They know now that it’s a girl. She stands 6’1″ and weighs 172 lbs.

My Second In A Row One-Day Old Giraffe Sighting

Just like last year, I got to see a not-quite one-day old giraffe calf at the San Diego Zoo. Missed both births by less than a day. Still feel pretty lucky, though.

Missed Another Baby Giraffe Being Born

Second time now I’ve just missed a giraffe giving birth. I’ll go in the morning to get my own pictures.

Another Attempt At Witnessing A Giraffe Birth

Spent the day at the San Diego Zoo with Mary and Diana. Was hoping to see the baby giraffe being born since the mom is two weeks overdue. Didn’t happen, but I did see the week-old baby Capybara, the first baby born at Elephant Odyssey. Also watched  a baby Nubian Gazelle being bottle fed.
