Our second to last Monarch emerged today, having smartly waited until the day after our rain storm. It was reborn healthy and ready to take life on in its new form.

Back At SeaWorld
Went walking at SeaWorld with my mom which is something we temporarily stopped doing during the summer months because of the crowds. Saw some interesting animals, not the usual, expected kind: three five-month Arctic Fox siblings, a five-year old Bearded Dragon named Pancake, a European Glass Lizard that was also around five-years old and a two-hundred pound Gulf Grouper that stared a lot. Started the day getting our picture taken with Pete Penguin and checking in on Sully, the newly introduced Pilot Whale. Took lots of shots of the Manta roller coaster construction. Looks like I was there inside the construction site but I stealthily shot through fence openings. Finished the day off splitting a decent chocolate eclair with my mom. Not the best, but good enough to enjoy.

Two More Photos Online
Posted two additional photos on both Google+ as well as 500px. Both are from Old Town. Decided that adding as many different kinds of shots is more likely to get my photos noticed than focusing on certain topics. Keep hearing that photographers should become accomplished at certain styles, like weddings or landscapes or portraits. I’d rather be more well-rounded with disparate elements. Like King Arthur’s table.

Earwig Momma
While watering some milkweed plants today I moved an empty pot and discovered this earwig watching over her nest of eggs. Since I didn’t want to disturb her I ran inside to get my giant, menacing, black glass eye (camera with macro lens) so I could get about an inch away from her. To her credit she wouldn’t run away. She was there to protect her babies. And be a model.

Vonsing, Starbucks Novelty, Pizzas and A Harry Potter Double Feature
Went along on a grocery shopping trip, ordered a (gasp!) new drink (Salted Caramel Mocha) from Starbucks instead of my ever-usual Caramel Macchiato, picked up some pizzas for dinner and sat and watched both Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as well as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One. Perfect way to close out the weekend.

Hair Today, Gone A Little Later Today
Finally got my hairs cut by Sylvia, who has been my best friend and stylist for like twenty seven years. Only once in all those years has anyone else cut my hair, and that was because I was temporarily living in New Mexico at the time. Also always gives a chance to catch up on all the family and friends gossip while I sit there and relax.
