Walk Along The Bay

Went for an impromptu, short walk along Mission Bay just east of SeaWorld on a picture postcard southern California day with Sylvia, Rodrigo, Lilo and Stitch. Finished the outing off with a deliciously sweet Berry Blast Slurpee and a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos from 7 Eleven.

Menagerie Watch: Day Two

Second day of watching the neighbors’ cats and dogs. (Other than working on Oxnard photos and watching podcasts, I didn’t do much else today. Sad? Maybe. Pathetic? Youbetcha.)

Back On The Farm

Starting another animal-sitting stint for the neighbors. This one’s for three days, two nights and still with two dogs that need meds and eight cats that sleep a lot.

My Latest Canvas Print

Received a canvas print today of the wagon and barrels photo that I shot in Old Town back on July 14. As always I am very happy with the quality that Picture It On Canvas produces.

Loving My Lizard

My photo of a Coast Horned Lizard was added to a group of other lizard shots on a Live Journal page on 500px. My plans to take over the Internet are crawling along nicely.

Little Dragons

Homes From The Past

Drove around Camarillo checking out the three houses our family lived in while us kids went to schools in the area. They seem much smaller than my younger mind remembers.

Where Saints Are Made

Spent over an hour walking around my old high school in Oxnard with my sister and mom, taking pictures and chatting with a few of the staff including the new school principal.

What’s An Oxnard: Day Two

Much merriment was had today starting with an excellent breakfast at the resort, followed by tennis playing, kite flying, bocce balling and walks along the beach. There was some Starbucks and donuts thrown in there somewhere for good measure.

What’s An Oxnard: Day One

Start of our two-day trip up to Oxnard to meet up with my visiting brother and his entourage.

Ozzie Makes Dinner

My brother, Ozzie, made and invited us to dinner tonight. He made his own version of Hungarian Gulyás (meat stew) with dumplings which turned out tasting pretty good.

Visiting With Old Friends

Had a great time catching up with old friends: swimming, eating, playing games, eating again, playing more games, telling ghost stories and finally roasting marshmallows over a fire pit. Wonderful way to spend a Saturday.

Comic Con: The Early Years

Visited the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park to see the Comic Con: The Early Years exhibit. It was a surprisingly minimal presentation with only three small display cases in the middle of a large open area. For the $6.00 admission that I paid I stayed and went through the rest of the museum, which took less than an hour. Spent another half an hour walking around the park, including strolling through the Arboretum, taking lots of pictures.

Zoo Day With Niece And Nephew

Had a good day as tour guide for my nephew, Stephen, his girlfriend, Jeri, and my niece, Kimi, at the San Diego Zoo. While quite a few animals were asleep or hiding, we still got to see most of the Zoo and had a pretty good lunch there as well.

I Am Now Spotifying

Created a Spotify account to listen to full tracks of music before deciding whether I should buy them, or if I even need to since the service streams the tracks. It also imports all my iTunes playlists. This fantastic service has been available in Europe for a while now and only recently finally came over to the U.S. As soon as I get my iPhone 5 I can start listening to music anywhere, anytime.

The Beauty Of The Brown Widow

Macro shot of the Brown Widow spider’s undercarriage. More beautifully colored than its more infamous cousin. Found this one nested on a plant in our backyard.
