Many Leave And One Enters

Today in 1865 Abraham Lincoln dies from a gun shot wound. In 1912 the Titanic sinks with a loss of 1,517 lives. But in 1889, Charlie Chaplin was born to later bring enjoyment to millions.

Rocket Launch

Watched a rocket from Vandenburg fly southward at around 9:25 pm.

Solemn Remembrance

Today in 1865, John Wilkes Booth shoots Abraham Lincoln in the back of the head. Lincoln dies the next day. Today in 1912, The RMS Titanic strikes an iceberg on her maiden voyage. She sinks the following morning. I have a few books on both of these events and will toast this evening in honor of those who were to be lost.

Me And Six At The Zoo

Spent most of the day back again at the San Diego Zoo, this time with six females. I didn’t stand a chance.

Questionable Advertising

Bizarre way to advertise an attraction. Makes you just want to rush out and visit.

Exceptionally Important Date In History

Today’s date is one of great importance in human history. Amongst many other notable events, the Civil War began in 1861 at Ft. Sumter, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human to orbit our planet in 1961, in 1945 Franklin D. Roosevelt died in office, The Space Shuttle Columbia lifted off in 1981 on the very first Shuttle mission, Disneyland Paris opens (under the name Euro Disney Resort) in 1992, and Tiny Tim is born in 1932 to questioningly tiptoe through our auditory tulips.

Comic Con Countdown Clock

One hundred days and counting…

The Doctor Is In

Main project I got accomplished today was finishing my brother’s website for his pediatric practice and taking it online for the world to see.

Morris and Flipper

Unfortunately today was another day of nothing terribly interesting happening. So here’s a video of two animals that normally would never interact.

Rainbow Connection

Witnessed a spectacular rainbow (double, even) in Chula Vista after a rainstorm and with the sun slowly setting in the west.

Pic Of The Wrist

Went with Rodrigo to San Diego Imaging to get an x-ray of his left wrist, which has been causing him pain and numbness lately. Obviously we stopped at Starbucks on the way back to celebrate three successful images. What those images reveal will be explained at a later date.

Food Doesn’t Usually Mean This Much

Got together with Sylvia, Rodrigo, Lannie and Mary for Sharon’s birthday lunch at the Tapias’ house. It was Sharon’s first real meal in a while, finally eating normal food after her very recent and successful fight against tongue cancer.

The Internet Is Becoming So Incestuous

Like the Fixx said, “One thing leads to another…”

I posted my meal photo from lunch today on Foodspotting...

...which automatically got mentioned on my Twitter stream...

...and got tweeted about by another Twitter account for travelers...

...which led to their page about Chinese restaurants in San Diego...

...and this other company is the same one that used my train photo from Zilker Park for a book about Austin to be published later this year.

Lunch With Lannie

Had a really good Chinese lunch with my old friend Lannie.
